my new boyfriend.

Check this action out. Words cannot express. I feel like if Groo had a budget, this is what he would do with it.

Also - for those of you who don't know who Groo is, here - educate yourselves. It will be the best thing you've done all day.

Again. Thanks Mike.

transformer.

This is our dishwasher. Dave insisted we get it when we purchased our home. The instructions came on a DVD, which of course we have not watched. I've had suspicions that its some sort of Transformer plotting its take over while we slumber. Regardless of its intentions, it wigged out on Sat. after PG pulled out the hose hidden in an adjacent cupboard. In a desperate attempt to stop the beeping and flashing lights, Dave started pushing combos of buttons.
It started playing this song. Bach - Cantata No. 147 Jesu. I kid you not.
I'm serious - that Dishwasher has big plans.

lessons learned.

  • GUM left in husband's pants and put in the dryer, does NOT a happy mom make.
  • PG likes buttons, especially those on our dishwasher. Good thing for us there's a button that locks the settings. Good thing for him he discovered the lock button.
  • Sometimes you may get too cocky in your stove top holiday pot-pourri mixing - disastrous things can be created.
  • Are you kidding me? Its freaking Dec. 12th?
  • Before you know it, you've agreed to make 2 people's Christmas Cards, plus 40 Thank You notes plus your own Christmas Cards.
  • Good thing Mike sent me a fantastic Christmas Video that brings joy to my heart.

sigh.

Sometimes you're up from 3 am - 6 am with your teething kid, and you're eyeballs hurt so bad you think you might go blind. Good thing today is family picture day.

ALSO - what the Jiminy Crickets is going on with Jay Leno's hair in this interview he had this morning on the Today Show?

an HP weekend.

I don't think this weekend could have been any more Potter-ier. ABC Family was airing all 5 Harry Potter Movies, and once we started watching, we couldn't stop. We ended up just renting all of them b/c we're too ADD for commercial interruption.

I'm not a fanatic by any means. In fact, I only just barely started reading the last of the series Deathly Hallows. But I do have to say, that a weekend of Harry Potter can do everyone some good. I guess all that's left to do is give a shout out to Taylor Hall, and put on the Harry Potter glasses in preparation of the Harry Potter Dance.

Another Taylor Hall shout out - Jones and I were discussing how we're all mature enough to get married and have grown up jobs, maybe some kids. But we are definitely not to the point where we could sit quietly through Equus. In fact, the thought makes me cry with laughter.

lessons learned.

If you're hubby is D, and he plans your birthday activities, they will include:
  • Massages/Spa-ing at the Grand America (only there was no creepy floating lady when we were there.)
  • Dinner at the Melting Pot (neither of us have ever been, and it was delicious!)
  • All with no kiddo
As a side note - Dave and I have gotten plenty of massages. But every time, I can't help but think of that Seinfield episode where Jerry debated whether or not it was appropriate to talk with the masseuse. I usually don't, but end up giggling inside about all sorts of inappropriate things that could transpire wilst being massaged. Obviously, in my old age, I'm at the height of my maturity.

a special day.

Today is indeed a special day. All I know is this...
  • It involves something from 4pm-11pm
  • A swimmy suit
  • A change of fancy clothes is required
I don't know about you - but I'm super stoked. Getting older sure is mysterious.
