preston squared.
We took Preston, (the baby) to visit Preston, ID (the city) this weekend - our first family road trip. Little buddy did really well. The trip was only a 2 dayer - Dave was helping run cables in Gary and Kathy's new home, whilst I introduced Preston to his extended family (including Great Grandma). I've decided that little farm towns are a relaxing getaway, they truly throw me off guard every time I go - but in an awesome way.
- if you ever want to get to Dave's cousin's home, the directions are as follows: turn off the main highway @ the Flying J, go until you see the tallest trees, then turn right.
- we had some form of red meat, potatoes & corn every night.
- we got pulled over 3 times, yes that's 3 times, in 2 days for having one headlight out.
- Big Jake's is the only place you'll see "tater gems" on the menu.
- the cashier at the local gas station greeted me with "hello mam! Are you having a good morning? We're glad to see you". Note: I didn't respond. I just headed straight for the Diet Coke. What was I to say?

once in a lifetime.
Some major things happened in the Aller house this weekend - things that will change us forever.
Here is the before.

#2. I got tickets to the Police reunion tour that's coming through SLC this summer. Me + the immediate Doughty clan are attending (Dave opted out and PG was offended that he's too young to go). I was ecstatic that I was able reserve all 5 tickets - the concert was sold out in 10 minutes! I was on the phone with my parents an hour before sales opened "practicing" what to do online when 10 am hit. There are 5 of us total - but a 4 ticket limit per one purchase - so we had to coordinate our efforts. Long story short - the parents weren't puter savvy enough when things got jammed, so I did 2 transactions and got all of our tickets. I've never been more proud of myself (ok maybe I have - but this one is up there). Oh Sting - its been too long.
#1. Preston tried solid food for the first time. I went with oatmeal mixed with some formula.
