park city.

Last year for D's 30th we made a weekend trip sans children (well, child - Ells was yet to be born) to Park City. We decided it should be an annual thing. This year Kathy graciously took our chillin's while we escaped for a few days. Here are a few things about Park City/our trip I'm sure everyone is dying to know.
  • Everyone dresses like hobos/lumberjacks. I have no shame in admitting I went to the movies in my jammie pants.
  • The 7-11s reek just as bad in PC as any other. Too bad we had to have hot cocoa at 1 am.
  • Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure may or may not have been viewed. I cannot say.
  • See bullet #1, but add a Jason Mraz and/or Britney Spears hat to the ensemble. Embarassing that I left mine behind.
  • Oh, and I did not see 1 child who's hair was shorter than shoulder length. Apparently PC has run out of hair dressers.
  • Our first night away I got a migraine like unto my accidental hangover honeymoon migraine, and was up all night puking. Last year I was puking due do Ells gestation. We're on a roll.....
Unfortunately this is the only pic we got of us.....at the most tremendous/dimly lit Thai restaurant. Man, no make up sure is flattering.

I laughed every time I saw this sign in the parking garage. No one's ever been more upset about choosing the wrong door than that poor stick figure man. PS - look at the bird holding the stop sign. Its just so funny.

Yup - and that's it for the photos we took. HA!

Although we love our kids.....sometimes its supremely awesome to get away. No offense guys.

PG breaking in Ells new jumper. Ehhhhhh.

I don't think she minded much.

if you love me.....

Vote for my child in the GAP Casting Call.......now. And yes I'm aware the pic is pixilated. I'm super pissed. Oh well, I'm uploading more tonight that will look better. In the mean time.....

Feel free to spread the word.

eyebrows.

Here's a question for the ages - When is too young to wax your kid's eyebrows? I'm not referring to my kids of course. But for some reason the past few weeks I've seen numerous young children with uni-brows. The type that are really one continuous caterpillar above the eyes. Immediately, I thought to myself - Uh, if that were my kid, I'd totally get that taken care of.....

I'd say I'm a pretty vain person. I'd also say I'm a pretty judgmental person. So, maybe its just me. Or maybe not......

someone gets older....

I didn't think you could get older than 30, but I apparently I'm wrong. Below is a pic of D from his childhood. He's the cutie on the bottom left. If you look closely, you can see him pinching his eldest brother's arm whilst sweetly smiling for the camera. I roll my eyes and laugh every time I see that picture - its so him.
Happy Birthday love. I guess we should start pricing out retirement facilities.....

2 recent convos.

I just saw a bumper sticker having something lame to do with the "Millenium Falcon".
And scene.......

Me: Was the "Millenium Falcon" from Star Wars or Star Trek?
D: Sarah - Come on!
Me: (Pause) So, Star Wars?
D: Wow. Yes. But I can't believe you had to ask.
Me: Well, I knew it was something space-y. And I remembered "The Enterprise" was from Star Trek. So my conclusion was Star Wars - by way of deductive reasoning.
D: Maybe let's just remember things that are important.
Me: Deal.

Recent Convo #2.

PG: Mom, I want to watch TV.
Me: Not right now Squeaker.
PG: Damn.

I can't decide if we're awful parents, or awesome parents. Sigh.

sweet dreams.

Last night I had a dream that involved miniature zombies and the Fonz. Both of which are equally scary.

Shudder.

lessons learned.

  • TV/Internet restored! Finally.......
  • So what did I watch on my newly restored BFF? Pearl Harbor. Oh the humanity! I really did forget how horrible that movie was. "That's for all the Raiders". Thanks Baldwin. Oh the HUMANITY!!
  • Does anyone else have road rage? If not, what DO you do when someone is being an idiot on the road? Just smile and wave? Seriously.
  • Good idea - eating Geergie's pancakes. Bad idea - eating Geergie's pancakes before a workout.
  • I have allergies. I look like I've been punched in the eyeballs. Red, swollen watery disgusting eyes - who knows how long this will last. Comments I have not appreciated..... "Oh you look sick. Do you have a cold?" "Hang in there mommy (stranger in the store - I was holding Ells), she'll start sleeping through the night eventually" "Have you been getting enough rest? You have huge bags under your eyes" (Thanks DAVE).
