sigh. monday. sigh.

Do you ever have days where you have so much to do, that you end up doing nothing? Yup. Peace out Monday. That was horrible. Let's never meet again.

Also, came across the Sorting Hat. I was crossing my fingers for "House of Lazy" or "House of Chocolate" or "House of Beach", but instead I was assigned the "House of Chaos and Whiney Children and Husband Who works until Midnight". Come on!

lessons learned.

  • Dear spouse, I love you. But I may love flour and sugar more. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  • Does anyone else forget to put clothes in the dryer? I went to college. I have a degree. Why? WHY?
  • I have to keep telling myself that someday PG will be potty trained. No. I don't want any advice. I've tried it all. At this point its a battle of wills. He's a fighter, but so am I. I bet it will be pretty embarrassing when he needs a diaper change on his first day of Junior High. That'll do it for sure.
  • PG started preschool this month. In the "parent orientation letter" it mentioned a sign up sheet for parents to bring fruit for snack time (the school provides the other snacks and drinks). I asked about the sheet the other day, and the teacher said "we tried it, no parents signed up". Wow. Really? Wow. Sad in so many ways. Luckily, I'm willing to do it. Every week. That's right unhealthy/lazy/cheap parents. Good grief.
  • The Words with Friends battle against british twin Sara Haller still wages. But I'm ahead by miles. No worries.
  • I guess Ells lives here too. Lets see......OH YEAH - she has an attitude like none I've ever seen. D keeps laughing and saying "vengeance!" as if to imply she gets it from me. We are in for some serious trouble.

you wish I was your wife.....

cause then you'd get Christmas presents like this.......

A "Bromantic" getaway with your brother. Where you get to sleep in everyday, play your geeky puter games, eat delicious unhealthy food, see some old friends, be outside in 70 degree weather, and ride some sweet rides.

D and his coaster girlfriend.

BRETT!!! How we've missed you guys.

Bromance at its best. Like kids in a candy store.

Video Jed took whilst riding the X2. Been there myself, and I'll never be the same. No coaster compares.

lessons learned.

  • Dinner out with the Doughty's might, just might, include catching the menu on fire. Ok, it definitely will.
  • Must. Read. Fine. Print. Son of a....
  • A combo of super exhaustion and a droopy eyelid caused me to panic and slap myself repeatedly in the face in order to see if I did or did not have Bells palsy. True, true story.
  • Even after 8 years, I still miss him so much when he's gone. It doesn't help that he's somewhere warm and I am not. Jerk.
  • Mandarines (the fruit, not the people). You are most definitely not Clementines, and I curse the day you were born (again the fruit, not the people.....).
  • Below freezing for 2 weeks = frozen pipes = no laundry. Which sounds dreamy, but turns horrific after a few days.
  • Watched a documentary that recapped of SNL in the 90s. MAN that were some great times on that show. Seriously.
  • What? That's all I got. I spent most of my week organizing and schlepping laundry to various friends' houses.....come on!

heaven help me.....

This was PGs blessing over dinner last night.

"Please bless mom will be nice, and that dad will come home....sometime."

Well played PG, well played.

I hope God explained that A.) mommy lives in UT where the sun doesn't shine/its 8 degrees outside and B). Dad works basically 24/7 sometimes.....a lot. If so, then we're good.

The cuteness will only get you so far PG......

a few recent convos.

There's a lot you've missed. Very important topics of discussion.....

Convo #1:
Me: Babe, chill. I'm almost ready.
D: Just put your hair in a side pony and lets get out of here.

Convo #2:
Me: So, if we accidentally consume a little bit of that plastic, won't we get sick?
D: No way - its just like if you have a little wax from a birthday candle on your cake.
Me: No its not.
D: Why?
Me: Because plastic is plastic, and candles are wax.

Convo #3: (referring to the new and ridiculous Bruno Mars song Grenade)
Me: Babe. Would you catch a grenade for me?
D: Yes. But I'd try to get rid of it as fast as possible. That guy is an idiot.

Convo #4: D is driving, I'm shotgun (naturally? whatever)
D: I'm pulling through Taco Bell, do you want anything?
Me: Sick. No.
D: Whatever - look up new Redbox releases and we'll grab a movie on our way home.
Me: (Rattling off titles) Ug. Reading my phone makes me carsick.
D: Holy Cow, this burrito is amazing.
Me: No really, I feel sick.
D: Its sooooooo goooooood.
Me: (Rattling off titles) Seriously, I feel like I'm going to puke.
D: Babe. This burrito has Fritos in it. FRIIITTT......
Me: Would you shut up about the freaking Frito Burrito? I. Am. Going. To. Puke.
Silence.
D: Fritos. That's all I'm gonna say.

FINE! lessons learned.

  • Apparently blog makeovers take longer than anticipated. And I miss blogging. So I'll just continue as if I never said anything, and then one say all y'all will be surprised. Animals.
  • The only travel one should be doing during the holidays is to somewhere with sun and a beach (and preferably without children) otherwise its just not a vacation....
  • There was not one little particle of sadness in me as I took PG to his first day of preschool this week. How horrible of a parent does that make me?
  • When in doubt - its an ear infection.
  • Also - for you mom's out there. This is from my doc, and I quote. "Pediatlyte is crap, don't waste your money". I knew it! I'm the smartest mother alive.....maybe.
  • % of New Years Resolutions already botched? Approx. 99.9%. What is it? Jan. 7th? Man 2011 is really looking promising.
  • DayQuil = Disgusting. NyQuil=Delicious. Its 2011, we really don't have a way to remedy this?
  • Also - its Jan in UT. My most favorite time of year....where it doesn't get above freezing for weeks. Hooray!
