sweet potato.

Methinks that Target has gotten lazy with their packaging design.

recent convo.

I suppose I should post something. But what do you post when you're life is virtually the same everyday? Kids, cooking, cleaning, shopping, gym (on occasion).

So here is a recent convo. And unless you've seen Close Enounters of the Third Kind, you will not understand one smidge of this conversation.

PG: (playing with his food)
Me: (to PG): "This isn't.....uh.....(to D) What's that alien movie with Richard Dreyfuss?"
D: "Close Encounters"
Me: "Right." (to Pres) "Unless this is Close Encounters of.....eh. Nevermind"
D: (shaking his head) "You can't even finish you're own smart ass remark"
Me: "I know. I am loosing my touch. Sigh"
Silence.
Dave: (singing the music notes from the movie) "Dooooo. Dooooo. Dooooo".

Incidentally, I would hope that if my child was trying to communicate an impending alien encounter via his mashed potato sculpture, that I would take it seriously. But let's get real. I most certainly would not. And most likely would send him to timeout for making a mess.

lessons learned.

  • Anna - its time to get out of Japan. Seriously. If I could, I would come get you myself.
  • Some of the extended Aller fam is stranded in Kauai (they are all ok...). That'll learn ya for vacationing....
  • I didn't think it was possible for PG to get any whinier this week, but it happened.
  • I practiced my music for TSO this week, and you know what? Practicing helps. Who knew?
  • Saw a purple Benz SUV with an iridescent sheen. Vomit.
  • 5 am wake up call (again) and not a drop of Diet Coke in the house. Save me.
  • Its nice out, and we're grilling tonight. Perfect, perfect, perfect.
  • 3 pairs of tap shoes located. Why was that so difficult?

lessons learned.

  • Social protocol people. Learn it. Use it.
  • Charlotte, no matter how good your story is - you're still a spider, and I cannot watch you.
  • Children, when I turn into a crazy person because I never sleep, it will be on your shoulders.
  • If I think about needing to work out all day long, but never get there - its just as good as if I went to the gym right?
  • Toy hammers, just about the worst kid toy ever.
  • Somedays you don't get a shower until 3:30 in the afternoon.
  • Whilst @ dinner the other night, some lady and her kids jokingly asked PG if he wanted to sit with them (he kept turning around and talking to them). He said "yes" and then went over....what the what? I don't know if you know this PG - but your dad and I are probably the coolest parents ever. Just sayin'
  • Its really sad when your kid thinks its warm enough for swimming when its 43 degrees out.
  • No sugar for 1.5 months + 1 open bag of Cadbury Minis = disaster.

zucchini and other pressing items....

Dear UT grocery stores. Why do none of you have zucchini for less than $2.99 a pound. Are you kidding me with this? Zucchini is basically a delicious weed. I guess my yellow curry will have to go without you. Not because I'm that cheap (ok maybe I am), but its more of a principle thing.

Also, in case your wondering, I am blogging about zucchini to avoid my tax doing......and again by "doing" I mean gathering the appropriate documents and sending them to our accountant. Motivation is nowhere to be found.

Also, also - I spiraled into a pit of despair this morning when I realized that today is in fact not March, but tomorrow is March. Definitely ready to leave February behind.

Happy Monday to all and to all a good March (tomorrow, not today, tomorrow....)

lessons learned.

  • D wants me to get SCUBA certified. I've always found this concept terrifying. Here goes.....
  • Ells is my 7:30am wake up call, on the dot, every day. WHY can I not go to bed before midnight?
  • You wish I was your den mother. 70 cupcakes - vanilla buttermilk w/butter cream frosting & devils food cake with cream cheese frosting for the Blue & Gold banquet.
  • A cheat day turned into a cheat week. Freakin' aforementioned cupcakes.
  • If you say stupid/obnoxious things on Facebook, I consider de-friending you every time, and sometimes do. Which is fine because we're not really friends in real life. Seriously people.
  • Parents in town this weekend. Visits are always too short.
  • PG learned a few lessons this week as well..... 1). although convenient, washing your hands in the toilet will end in consequences you never dreamed of. 2). Lettuce, its delicious. 3). Snow is fluffy and pretty, but above all its cold and only enjoyable for approx. 10 minutes.

maturity.

Does anyone else get annoyed/upset at lame/stupid/trivial things? And you know they are lame/stupid/trivial, but that doesn't seem to matter....

Maybe its me. I'll never be a mature grown up. I'm fine with it.
