it's time.....

...to let the cat out the bag, I suppose. Aller baby #3 is on it's way September 2012! 15 weeks down...infinity to go.
  • Yes. This is why I've been MIA since December.
  • Yes. I'm a little terrified. This will mean the "grown ups" are outnumbered.
  • Yes. I'm aware I already have 2 children. But I'd say we're on a roll - cause these guys are pretty radical....
Here's to never mentioning the past few months again, and looking forward to what will be the best 2nd trimester any one has ever had. A girl can dream, right?

a good samaritan bought my velveeta.....

Yup. You heard me correctly. I was at the store, and indeed had my purse, but it surely did not have my wallet in it. Of course I realized it after everything was loaded on the belt and my turn was up. Here's the line up....
  • 3 cans of chili
  • 1 box Veleveeta Cheese
  • 1 gallon of Langers apple juice
Disgusting? Yes. I was buying the makings of queso (minus the juice) for my spouse. So don't you dare judge me....judge him. Anyway I asked the cashier if she could hold my items, and I'd quickly run home to get my wallet. (I literally live 2 minutes away from the store). And a sweet older gentleman in front of me insisted on paying for my ghetto purchases.

So thank you kind man - from the bottom of my exhausted, frazzled, sweats wearing heart. Even if it was for Velveeta cheese. I shall surely pass on the good deed. And maybe try and be less scrutinizing about other's disgusting purchases.....maybe.

so what's the protocol if.....

....your 4 year old swallows 20 pieces of gum?

Good hell. Happy Monday.

Before he manned up and volunteered the truth, here are some fibs formulated in his 4 year old brain.
  • Ells ate it.
  • All of the gum is in the house somewhere, don't worry, we'll find it mom.
  • The window opened by itself and it all blew away.
Sheesh. I cannot wait for the excuses of teenage-hood. Can. Not. Wait.

lessons learned.

  • Let's be clear - it's Downton Abbey, not Downtown Abbey. I have yet to see the show, but that much I know.
  • Remember Jamba Juice? I recently did. And I've been there everyday since.
  • Did anyone else not know that Jessica Simpson was expecting? What is happening? Thank heavens for Facebook. America could be Zombie Apocalyps-ing and I swear FB would be the only way I'd find out.
  • Some lady at the park asked where I got my son's jeans. I said their girls jeans, from the GAP. She almost gave me a Nobel Prize for Awesomeness on the spot. But I told her I already had one, and a second would be too flashy.
  • YOU GUYS. I took my mother in law to Great Harvest for lunch - this is what I ordered. "Gina's Love - PB, Nutella and Mini Marshmallows grilled on Country White Bread". Maybe I should give Great Harvest my Nobel Prize.
  • Tried the Elliptical at the gym to change it up. I haven't been on one since 2000. I still feel super confused.

mind games.

Game:
  • Memory
Teams:
  • PG, Iron Giant, Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee vs.
  • Me, Jessie (from Toy Story) and Jenn (an elusive female Avenger)
And yes, PG picked the teams....but I'm fairly confident. Pretty sure only one of us in the room has a college degree.

Game on little buddy.

honey, I'm home....without a non vital organ.

*Warning - picture of an organ (anatomy, not instrument) post surgery.

As I'm sure many of you read/heard, Dave had his appendix out on Saturday. We went to the ER nice and early that morning thinking A) Appendicitis or B) Kidney Stone because the abdominal pain was so intense. They told us Dave either had a "case of really bad gas" or "food poisoning".....really. I can't blame them - his blood and urine samples checked out fine. We were sent home with anti-nausea medication because of all the vomiting. Oh wait, there was no vomiting. And my kids definitely looked homeless...aaaaand ER with kids = hell on earth. An unpleasant morning all around.

So Dave loafed around in bed all day. I thought he was just resting, but I guess the pain was getting steadily worse. He didn't tell me the pain was crazy high until that night. Aunt/Nurse Dixie told us to go back to the ER immediately. This time we came prepared with our own blanket and snacks. After a few minutes it was apparent that surgery needed to happen soon because his test were off the charts and the CT scan showed a ginormous appendix.

Nighty night babe. Enjoy those drugs. (Sorry its blurry. The surgeon was staring at me, probably thinking I'm weird....and he's probably right).

Surgery revealed this bad boy. Which apparently was super huge. We're lucky it didn't s'plode inside him.

Headed home. He had to stay for 2 days. Can I just say sleeping in a hospital cot was dreamy....

Thank you to all our friends and family who helped us out the past few days. Fo' realz. We are super blessed.

lessons learned.

  • It's not judgmental if you don't physically say what you're thinking, right? Right. Good.
  • Why am I cringing? Because your child is very obviously sick. GO HOME.
  • I have less than a handful of Grey's Anatomy episodes left. THEN WHAT HAPPENS?
  • Sometimes you see pineapple scraps in the dumpster whilst throwing trash out. Then you purchase some pineapple and eat it for 2 days straight. Perfectly normal.
  • So, who wants to go to the Post Office for me? Cause that is something that makes me want to kill myself (at least with the children in tow). Considering leaving a note and exact change in my mailbox for the mailman. He's gotta have some stamps.
  • You know what's super awesome? Highway construction that shakes your house at 7:30 in the morning. Totally thought about taking my children out there and asking who wanted to watch them while I finished sleeping.
  • Yay Friday!!
